Who we are

chat-qr.com ("Chat QR") lets you create dynamic QR codes by describing them in a chat. Contact: hello@chat-qr.com.

What we collect

• Account: when you sign in with Google we store your Google account ID, name, email address and profile picture URL. We never see your Google password.
• Your QR codes: the requests you type, the content you put in a code (links, contact details, Wi-Fi names, menus...) and the design you choose.
• Scans: when someone scans one of your codes we store the time, the device type (iPhone, Android, desktop), the referring page if any, the country when provided by our network provider, and a salted hash of the IP address. We do not store raw IP addresses.
• Billing: payments are processed by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID, subscription status and the date of a lifetime purchase. Card numbers never reach our servers.

How we use it

To generate and serve your QR codes, count scans, apply your plan, bill it, and improve the product. Your requests are sent to AI model providers (Anthropic Claude, and optionally OpenRouter, Groq, Google AI Studio or Cerebras) only to interpret the request; they receive the text of the request and nothing about your account.

Cookies and storage

We use a browser storage token to keep you signed in and no advertising cookies. Scan landing pages set no cookies.

Retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account and all your QR codes at any time from the dashboard; printed codes then stop working. Scan logs are deleted with the code.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy or the deletion of your data by writing to hello@chat-qr.com. If you are in the EU/EEA, UK or a jurisdiction with similar rules, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

Children

The service is not directed at children under 16.
